Kerrang Contents Page Analysis

The masthead from the cover is also included on the contents page to create good ‘house style’ for the magazine. Also the colours used are the same as those used on the front cover; black, white and gold are used to create good ‘house style’. There is a clear layout; it is split into different sections, which are clearly labelled. This makes it easier for the audience to find what they want to read, and this will make them want to buy the magazine. The images of old Kerrang covers, a few bands and a singer and a crowd at a gig are used, because it fits in with the target audience, people who listen to heavy metal and rock music. They only have one page for the contents page; this makes it better for the audience to look at and makes it easier for them to find what they are looking for. The posters special is included and highlighted to attract the audience into buying the magazine. They also include a section from the editor. This section makes the audience aware of what is to come in the interviews and the thoughts from the editor themselves.
