NME Contents Page Analysis

The masthead is in a different font from the cover, although it is slightly similar. And they use different fonts for each article, hey use this, because it grabs the audience's attention and makes them want to buy the magazine. Also they have a good sense of 'house style', because the target audience is people who listen to rock and indie music, and the layout and images connect with that genre. The colours used are red, black and white. They also the same as the cover; this is to create good ‘house style’. The images all link to different articles that were mentioned on the cover. This is to draw the audience’s eye to the articles and make them want to buy the magazine. There is a structured layout; the images are all separated with think grey lines. This is so that the audience can easily find the different articles. The numbers used represented the pages the articles are on; this again makes it easier for the audience to find articles. Also they are in bold, because they grab the audience’s attention. They only have one page for the contents page; this makes it better for the audience to look at and makes it easier for them to find what they are looking for. And under the images they use quotes from the articles themselves and labels underneath them in bold. Also they use an advert for an NME magazine subscription, because they want the audience to buy the magazine.
